Built in 1793 with a traditional Collyweston slate roof. It has always been a pub but once included a sweet shop and post office. Two roomed pub with real fires. Large garden for 100 plus people and covered area that takes thirty. Run by an Italian couple so expect to find real Italian food. Open for lunch and evening meal every day and a Sunday roast from 12.30. Live music, poker nights, BBQs and marquee for hire. Recently (Jan 2011) modified so that it is leased directly from the Burghley House Preservation Trust rather than via a pub company so expect to see some changes and improvements. Garden used for the Annual Village Gala and the Big Squeeze, a cider making festival.
